    Summary:      

    Responsible for applying cash receipts to customer’s accounts for McWane Ductile Pipe Group.  Also responsible for working closely with the Credit Manager and contacting customers with delinquent accounts using the highest level of professionalism.  Assist credit and accounting with other clerical duties as assigned.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. This position is a full time (minimum 40 hours per week) on-site position.

     

    1. Cash application for Pipe Group with high level of accurateness.
    2. Review Aging Receivables for outstanding balances and collection.
    3. Resolve payment disputes with customers.
    4. Reconcile daily cash postings.
    5. Contact delinquent accounts by phone, fax, and in writing.
    6. Work closely with the sales department and credit manager on back charges or deductions, which may hold up payments.
    7. Prepare waivers as assigned by credit manager.
    8. Release customer orders for shipment.
    9. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
    10. Participate in bi-monthly pipe inventories.
    11. Cross train on other accounting clerical positions.
    12. Serve as a backup for other accounting clerical positions.
    13. Prepare various journal entries at month end.
    14. Reconcile various accounts.
    15. Prepare and distribute various month end reports.
    16. Prepare requests from auditors.

    Education and/or Experience          

    An Associate Degree in Accounting or Business; or one year of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.                                

     

     

    Language Skills                                               

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

     

     

    Mathematical Skills                                                    

    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to understand statistics. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
